Role Overview

The Assistant Principal / Academic Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring consistent teaching quality, supporting teachers, and improving the overall academic standards of Kinderberry.

This position is ideal for an experienced preschool educator who enjoys mentoring teachers, designing learning experiences, monitoring children's progress, and growing into a leadership role.

You will work closely with the Principal to strengthen our curriculum implementation, teacher development, and daily academic operations.

Key Responsibilities1. Academic Coordination & Curriculum Implementation

• Support the implementation of Kinderberry's curriculum and learning programmes
• Monitor lesson planning and ensure learning objectives are achieved
• Review teachers' weekly lesson plans and provide guidance
• Ensure age-appropriate activities and learning experiences are delivered
• Support student assessment and progress tracking
• Assist in preparing academic reports and parent-teacher meetings

2. Teacher Coaching & Development

• Mentor and support teachers in improving teaching practices
• Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback
• Guide teachers in classroom management strategies
• Support new teacher onboarding and training
• Encourage a positive and professional teaching culture

3. Classroom Quality Management

• Conduct regular classroom walk-throughs
• Monitor classroom environment, routines, and learning engagement
• Identify areas for improvement and create action plans
• Ensure children's safety, wellbeing, and learning needs are prioritised

4. Student Development Monitoring

• Monitor children's academic and developmental progress
• Identify students who need additional support
• Work with teachers to implement intervention strategies
• Maintain student learning records and portfolios

5. Parent Engagement Support

• Support teachers in conducting meaningful parent communication
• Assist during Parent Teacher Meetings (PTM)
• Handle parent enquiries professionally
• Build positive relationships between school and families

RequirementsEssential:

Diploma / Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Minimum 3 years of preschool teaching experience
Strong understanding of early childhood development
Experience in lesson planning and classroom management
Good communication and leadership skills
Passionate about mentoring teachers and improving education quality

Preferred:

Experience as Senior Teacher, Lead Teacher, Supervisor, or Academic Coordinator
Experience conducting teacher training or coaching
Familiar with EYFS, play-based learning, thematic learning, or project-based learning
Experience preparing assessments and student progress reports

Pay: RM1,812.15 - RM6,000.00 per month
