CNC Engineer – Job Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and optimize CNC machines (Milling, Turning, or Machining Centers) to meet production requirements.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAD/CAM software.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters to achieve optimum productivity and quality.
- Monitor machining processes and implement continuous process improvements to reduce cycle time and production costs.
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances to ensure accurate machining.
- Investigate and resolve machining issues, quality defects, and equipment-related problems.
- Conduct first article inspections and support production during new product introduction (NPI).
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Design teams to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for machining-related issues.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance activities and support machine calibration to maintain equipment reliability.
- Train and guide CNC operators and technicians on machine operation, tooling, and best machining practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including CNC programs, tooling lists, work instructions, and process records.
- Evaluate and recommend new machining technologies, tooling, and equipment to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through process optimization, material utilization, and productivity improvements.
Qualifications (Optional)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience with CNC programming (G-code), CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, Fusion 360, Siemens NX), and machining processes.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, cutting tools, and precision measurement instruments.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
Working Schedule
- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Normal Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Overtime: Saturday (as required by production or operational needs)
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
