- Experience in a high-volume transaction business such as payments, fintech, e-commerce, digital platforms, marketplaces, retail, travel, logistics or a regional shared-service environment is strongly preferred.
- Practical exposure to multiple legal entities, countries and currencies, including foreign currency remeasurement/translation and differing local accounting or statutory requirements.
- Strong technical accounting foundation and the ability to assess revenue, cost recognition, cut-off, accruals, prepayments, customer or supplier balances and manual journals.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, including data reconciliation, pivot tables, lookups and review of complex formulas. Experience with Xero or similar cloud accounting systems is an advantage.
- High proficiency in written and spoken English.
The Qualities We Are Looking For
- Exceptional attention to detail. You naturally test calculations, investigate unusual movements and look for missing, duplicated or unsupported items.
- A strong reconciliation mindset. You expect every material balance to have a clear owner, supporting schedule and explanation.
- Ability to understand end-to-end transaction flows and connect operational activity to invoicing, receipts, supplier settlement, revenue, cost of sales, foreign exchange and ledger postings.
- Comfort working with imperfect system integrations, data from multiple sources and necessary manual adjustments, while steadily improving the underlying controls.
- Independent judgment and professional courage to challenge incomplete or inaccurate work, including work prepared by long-serving or senior colleagues, in a respectful and constructive manner.
- Hands-on working style. You are willing to inspect source data, trace transactions and resolve issues rather than relying entirely on others or external auditors.
- Strong organisation and deadline management, with the ability to prioritise material matters and produce reliable management accounts on time.
- Clear communication and the maturity to work across different cultures, entities and external advisers.
