Delta Squared Consultants Sdn. Bhd. is an engineering consultancy specializing in industrial battery systems, battery racks, and customized engineering solutions for data centres, power plants, substations, and industrial facilities.

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Structural Engineer to support our engineering team in performing structural analysis and design verification of steel battery racks and related support structures.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Develop and review 3D structural models of steel structures.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of steel frames and welded assemblies.
• Conduct static, dynamic, and seismic structural analysis.
• Verify member strength, stability, deflection, and connection performance.
• Perform anchorage and base plate calculations.
• Evaluate structures under dead, live, wind, and seismic loading.
• Prepare structural calculation reports suitable for client submission.
• Review existing designs and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Liaise with our engineering team during project execution.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Minimum 5 years experience in structural steel design.

Strong understanding of:

• Steel structural analysis
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Seismic engineering
• Welded steel structures

Experience using one or more of the following software:

• ANSYS
• STAAD.Pro
• SAP2000
• ETABS
• RFEM / RSTAB
• Abaqus (advantage)

Familiar with international design codes such as:

• Eurocode 3 & Eurocode 8
• ASCE 7
• AISC Steel Manual
• AISC 341 (preferred)
• EN 1998

Ability to prepare clear engineering calculation reports.

Good communication skills in English.
