Job Summary
We are looking for a Desktop Engineer to provide onsite IT support and deliver excellent end-user experience. This role is responsible for supporting end-user computing, managing IT assets, handling incident management, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations while meeting service level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite IT support and deliver excellent customer service to end users and IT service teams.
- Troubleshoot end-user computing issues and provide timely resolution for hardware and software-related incidents.
- Manage incident tickets from assignment to closure, including investigation, troubleshooting, and providing temporary or permanent solutions.
- Provide regular status updates and ensure tickets are closed accurately upon completion.
- Assist users with the basic usage of software applications and hardware peripherals.
- Perform basic administrative support, IT asset management, and routine IT housekeeping activities.
- Maintain asset records, incident logs, and system configurations, while preparing reports when required.
- Identify root causes of issues and communicate effectively with internal teams, end users, and third-party vendors.
- Ensure service delivery meets agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Manage the desktop lifecycle, including asset tracking, device deployment, application installation, user migration, decommissioning, and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with site and global operational procedures, security policies, health & safety standards, and information security requirements.
- Provide hands-and-feet support to Global IT service teams when required.
- Support and maintain meeting room devices, including audio-visual (AV) equipment and systems.
- Manage end-user device onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Continuously improve the overall end-user IT support experience.
Requirements
- Nitec or Diploma in IT or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of IT support experience.
- Experience in Desktop Support, End User Support, Helpdesk, or IT Infrastructure Support.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
