About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Pipeline Engineer to join our client's engineering team in Pasir Gudang. This is a lead-level role responsible for delivering high-quality pipeline engineering solutions across offshore oil & gas projects, from FEED through detailed engineering and EPCIC execution. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee engineering deliverables, mentor engineering teams, and ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pipeline engineering activities throughout FEED, detailed engineering, and EPCIC project phases.
- Review and approve engineering deliverables, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Coordinate pipeline engineering activities to ensure project quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to pipeline engineers and designers.
- Review pipeline routing, material selection, wall thickness calculations, and installation methodologies.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations (TBE), engineering estimates, and tender submissions.
- Review Bills of Materials (BOM), vendor documentation, and technical queries throughout project execution.
- Support fabrication, construction, commissioning, and site technical clarifications when required.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Promote engineering best practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and HSE compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in pipeline engineering within the oil & gas industry.
- At least 3 years of experience in a Lead Engineer or engineering management role.
- Strong experience in offshore pipeline and riser engineering.
- Proven experience delivering FEED, Detailed Design, and EPCIC projects.
- Solid understanding of offshore pipeline design, routing, materials selection, wall thickness calculations, constructability, and installation.
- Experience reviewing engineering deliverables, vendor documentation, and technical bid evaluations.
- Familiarity with international pipeline codes and standards such as ASME and DNV.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high engineering quality.
