Job Summary

You will design, implement, administer, and monitor enterprise databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. You will troubleshoot incidents within SLA timelines, coordinate with vendors and teams, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, administer, monitor, and document enterprise databases to support business operations
• Ensure database performance, security, and availability by applying best practices and proactive monitoring
• Monitor database health and respond promptly to alerts to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents within SLA timelines to maintain service continuity
• Perform daily database maintenance tasks, including backup verification and monitoring, to ensure data integrity
• Coordinate with vendors and development teams to diagnose and resolve database-related issues efficiently
• Implement database changes in non-production environments to validate stability before production deployment
• Escalate critical database issues promptly when resolution cannot be achieved within agreed timelines to mitigate risks
• Maintain clear and timely communication with stakeholders regarding database requests, incidents, and resolution status

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Database Administration experience
• Proficient in IBM DB2 (v10+), Oracle Database (v11+), and PostgreSQL (v14+) administration
• Skilled in database performance tuning, optimization, index management, and statistics analysis
• Experienced in backup, restore, and recovery processes to ensure data availability
• Knowledgeable in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and implementation
• Proficient in scripting and automation using Shell scripting to streamline database tasks
• Experienced in developing Stored Procedures, PL/SQL, and SQL for database development and maintenance
• Skilled in database design, development, and performance tuning to optimize data workflows
• Familiar with cloud database technologies for scalable and flexible database management
• Knowledgeable in Windows, Linux, AIX, and Solaris operating systems for cross-platform database support
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to address complex database challenges

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with SQL Server and MySQL database administration
• Experience in data modeling using ERWIN or equivalent tools
• Experience with Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems
• Knowledge of EMV and PCI DSS standards for secure payment data handling

Employment type: Contract - 24 months
Location: East Region, Singapore
Working Hours: 8:30AM to 6:00PM (Mon-Fri)
Salary: $6000 - 9000 per month (no bonus)
Working Arrangement: Full Onsite
