CONTRACT: 6-MONTHS (RENEWABLE/ PERMANENT)
JOB SUMMARY
The GM shall lead and integrate all business functions to achieve sustainable growth, profitability and operational excellence. As the second highest executive after the CEO, the GM is fully accountable for the Company's commercial performance, business expansion, operational execution, organisational capability, governance, financial performance and customer success.
The GM is entrusted to build a scalable organisation capable of supporting aggressive business growth by driving strategy execution, developing leaders, optimising resources and creating a high-performance culture.
The position carries full executive responsibility for achieving the Company's annual business plan, strategic initiatives and long-term growth objectives.
Strategic Management & Business Direction
- Execute the company’s strategies, directions, and priorities as determined by the CEO.
- Translate company objectives into departmental plans, targets, and measurable actions.
- Monitor the company’s overall performance and ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Advise the CEO on operational, financial, workforce, project, and business-related matters.
- Identify business risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management intervention.
- Support the development of short-term and long-term company plans.
Operational & Project Oversight
- Oversee overall company operations, tender activities, project execution, delivery, installation, and project completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered according to contract requirements, customer expectations, budget, and timeline.
- Monitor high-value, high-risk, or strategic projects requiring management attention.
- Review project progress, operational constraints, resource requirements, and corrective actions.
- Ensure departments collaborate effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
- Escalate critical project risks, delays, disputes, or contractual issues to the CEO
- Ensure each Manager clearly understands departmental objectives, responsibilities, and priorities.
- Review departmental plans, reports, KPIs, issues, and improvement actions.
- Ensure effective coordination between Corporate Services, Tender, Procurement, Project, Operation, Logistics, Finance, HR, and Administration.
- Hold Managers accountable for departmental performance and execution.
- Guide Managers in resolving complex operational, employee, customer, supplier, or project issues.
Corporate Services & Organisational Management
- Oversee HR, administration, finance, accounts, compliance, and internal support functions.
- Ensure adequate staffing, employee development, performance management, and organisational discipline.
- Monitor administrative efficiency, internal controls, policies, and governance practices.
- Ensure financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow monitoring, cost control, and payment planning are properly managed.
- Ensure company resources, assets, systems, and facilities support business requirements.
- Promote a professional, accountable, and performance-driven working culture.
Financial & Performance Management
- Review company budgets, departmental expenditure, project costs, revenue, margins, and financial performance.
- Ensure departments operate within approved budgets and cost-control requirements.
- Monitor project profitability, outstanding payments, cash flow requirements, and financial risks.
- Review management reports and provide recommendations to improve business performance.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented when performance falls below target.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure SOPs, approval processes, internal controls, and reporting structures are implemented consistently.
- Review serious non-compliance, misconduct, audit findings, customer complaints, or project failures.
- Ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Maintain professional relationships with customers, government agencies, financial institutions, suppliers, strategic partners, and key stakeholders.
- Manage escalated customer, supplier, contractual, or stakeholder matters.
- Ensure customer concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Support the development of strategic partnerships and long-term business relationships.
Business Growth & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for business growth, operational improvement, and market expansion.
- Recommend improvements to organisational structure, workflows, systems, and management practices.
- Support tender strategy, business development, and strategic project planning.
Reporting & Management Communication
- Prepare and present company performance reports, management updates, risk summaries, and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure decisions, instructions, and action items are properly communicated and monitored.
- Report critical matters, deviations, and recommendations to the CEO promptly.
- Perform other responsibilities assigned by the CEO
Requirement & Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Human Resources, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
2. MBA or relevant professional certification is an added advantage.
3. Minimum 8–10 years of relevant working experience, including at least 3 years in management position.
4. Proven experience in managing multiple departments or business functions.
5. Strong understanding of business operations, financial management, human resources, projects, tenders, compliance, and corporate governance.
6. Experience in government procurement, tender projects, or project-based organisations is an added advantage.
7. Strong strategic planning, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
8. Able to analyse financial, operational, project, and workforce performance.
9. Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder-management, and conflict-resolution skills.
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
