Job Purpose
To support the Production Engineer in ensuring production activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and according to quality standards while achieving daily production targets. The role focuses on machine operation support, process monitoring, documentation, and continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Production Engineer in achieving daily production output, productivity, and efficiency targets.
- Operate and monitor production machines and equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Perform machine setup, product changeover, and basic parameter verification as instructed.
- Monitor production processes and report any abnormalities, machine breakdowns, or product defects immediately.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting and escalate issues beyond capability to the Engineer or Maintenance team.
- Conduct in-process quality inspections and ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Record production data, downtime, rejection, and hourly output accurately.
- Assist in implementing process improvements to reduce defects, waste, and production downtime.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), trial runs, and engineering evaluations when required.
- Ensure production materials are available before starting production and report shortages promptly.
- Follow FIFO and material traceability requirements during production.
- Maintain proper housekeeping (5S) and cleanliness at the production work area.
- Comply with all Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health requirements, including PPE usage and company regulations.
- Participate in Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (CI), and cost reduction activities.
- Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to production issues.
- Assist in operator training for new work instructions, SOPs, and production methods when assigned.
- Ensure all production documents, check sheets, and work instructions are completed accurately.
- Cooperate with QA, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Planning departments to ensure smooth production flow.
- Report unsafe conditions, near misses, or safety concerns immediately.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Production Engineer, Supervisor, or Management.
Requirements
- Minimum SPM / SKM / Diploma in Engineering or related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes is an advantage.
- Able to read and follow SOPs and work instructions.
- Willing to work shifts and overtime when required.
- Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word) is an advantage.
Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
