Our client carrying out business activities as service contractors, wiring and supply related electrical, telephone and ELV in the construction of real estate, housing, offices and infrastructure
The Junior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for supporting the estimation and tendering process during the pre-contract phase of projects. The role focuses on preparing accurate cost estimates, assisting with tender submissions, reviewing project requirements, and maintaining project cost documentation.
Job Responsibilities
1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting
Prepare quantity take-offs based on drawings and project specifications.
Assist in preparing cost estimates, quotations, and budget proposals.
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ) and maintain costing records.
2. Tendering & Bid Management
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
Assist in the preparation and submission of tender documents within deadlines.
Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for cost comparison.
Support tender clarifications and pricing revisions when required.
3. Technical Review & Risk Analysis
Review drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies or missing information.
Assist in evaluating project risks, cost implications, and commercial considerations.
Ensure estimates comply with client requirements, industry standards, and company procedures.
4. Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with Project, Procurement, and other internal teams to obtain project information.
Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information.
Support project handover from tender stage to project execution.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate project costing records and tender documentation.
Generate reports and assist management with cost analysis and project updates.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Candidates with up to 2 years of relevant QS or estimating experience are also welcome.
Basic knowledge of quantity take-off, cost estimation, and tendering processes.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Knowledge of AutoCAD is an added advantage.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsible, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
