Job Summary:

• We are seeking a Design & Estimation Engineer with strong experience in Fire & Gas detection, suppression and ELV systems across marine, offshore, oil & gas, industrial, infrastructure, commercial and data-center projects. The role combines detailed, code-compliant system design with accurate estimation — preparing schematics, I/O lists, BOQs and cost estimates to build technically sound and commercially competitive proposals. The successful candidate will optimize design efficiency, improve system reliability, mini mise project risk and coordinate closely between design, engineering, procurement and client teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Review client specifications, tender documents and drawings to define the design and estimation basis.

•    Prepare detailed designs including schematics,I/O lists, system architecture, control logic / cause-and-effect, interconnection and termination diagrams, and control-panel design.

•    Perform voltage-drop, battery and other supporting design calculations.

•    Prepare accurate BOQs, material take-offs and cost estimates for techno-commercial proposals.

•    Source and evaluate vendor quotations with the procurement team; carry out cost comparisons and product selection.

•    Ensure all designs and estimates comply with NFPA, SS645, EN 54, IEC and other applicable international standards.

•    Attend pre-bid and technical meetings to clarify requirements and propose compliant, cost-effective solutions.

•    Coordinate with engineering, procurement and client teams, manage deliverables and resolve technical issues across the project lifecycle.

•    Produce technical documentation including datasheets, compliance statements and project summaries.

Skills & Competencies:

• Design and estimation of addressable and conventional fire alarm, gas detection and suppression (VESDA) systems.
•  Fire & Gas system integration with PLC,ICSS, HVAC and shutdown systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Strong numerical, analytical and cost-estimation skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Working knowledge of fire-suppression /clean-agent systems and marine safety equipment.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office for building estimates, BOQs and proposal documents.
• Commercial awareness — understanding of pricing, margins, supplier evaluation and tender risk.
• Good written and verbal communication for clarifications, correspondence and proposal preparation.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tenders under deadline pressure.
• Team player able to collaborate across engineering, procurement and project functions.
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and committed to quality and continuous improvement.
