Role Description The Cyber Security Executive / Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Kuala Lumpur. This role is responsible for monitoring security events and alerts, analyzing potential threats, and escalating incidents according to defined procedures. The individual will assist in conducting vulnerability assessments, reviewing security logs, and contributing to the improvement of security controls and policies. Daily tasks include preparing clear incident and risk reports, supporting implementation of security tools, and collaborating with IT and operations teams to remediate identified issues. The role also involves staying current with emerging threats and best practices, participating in security awareness initiatives, and helping ensure compliance with internal and external security requirements.
Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret security logs, alerts, and reports.
• Basic knowledge of network, system, and application security concepts (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, access control).
• Understanding of common cyber threats, attack vectors, and security frameworks or standards (such as ISO 27001, NIST, or similar).
• Ability to document incidents, risks, and technical findings clearly and concisely for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Effective communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to collaborate with IT, operations, and management in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, high level of integrity, and commitment to confidentiality and responsible handling of sensitive information.
• Relevant academic background in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP associate level) are an advantage.
• Willingness to learn, adapt to new tools and technologies, and stay updated with current security trends and best practices.
