Account Assistant

Location: Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

About the Role

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Account Assistant to support our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, eager to learn, and looking to build a career in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and maintaining accounting records.
• Process invoices, payments, receipts, and petty cash transactions.
• Perform data entry and ensure accounting records are accurate and up to date.
• Reconcile bank statements and supplier/customer accounts.
• Assist in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare supporting documents for audits, tax, and statutory compliance.
• Maintain proper filing of financial documents.
• Assist with month-end closing and other accounting duties.
• Perform administrative and ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with relevant working experience will have an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software is an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Responsible, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
