Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician/ Assistant Chemist provides essential support to the Chemist team, primarily focusing on the collection and preparation of samples for refinery processes and maintaining wastewater treatment operations.
Key Responsibilities
(A) Collection and preparation of samples:
- Collect and verify incoming samples.
- Register and maintain sample records in the laboratory management system.
- Perform sample preparation procedures, including wet digestion, filtration, and related laboratory techniques.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of samples and chemical reagents.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping.
- Collaborate effectively with chemists, operations, and environmental teams.
(B) Wastewater Treatment Plant Monitoring
- Conduct routine monitoring and sampling of wastewater treatment plant performance.
- Record and report operational parameters, test results, and abnormalities.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Support troubleshooting and optimization activities for wastewater treatment processes.
Job Requirement
- Diploma or Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related scientific field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an industrial, chemical, or wastewater treatment environment (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing and able to work 6 days a week (Monday to Saturday), with one scheduled rest day per week
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM3,300.00 per month
