️ The Role

You will own the application and system architecture of X-One.

You will review designs and code produced by developers and AI agents, define clear system boundaries and ensure that POCs are converted into production-grade software.

Cloud infrastructure remains the responsibility of the Cloud Architect.

Deep agentic AI experience is beneficial but not mandatory. We also welcome strong software architects who are willing to learn how to direct, review and govern AI-assisted engineering effectively.

 What You Will Do

• Define and maintain the software and systems reference architecture for X-One.

• Review and approve architecture proposals, service designs and AI-generated engineering outputs.

• Establish where AI agents can work autonomously and where human review or approval is mandatory.

• Design clear boundaries between:

o deterministic business and compliance logic;

o agentic or LLM-driven behaviour;

o shared platform services;

o and product-specific banking modules.

• Define service, API, event, data and integration contracts.

• Guide Python and FastAPI backend architecture and React/TypeScript integration patterns.

• Shape PostgreSQL, pgvector, workflow and audit-trail design.

• Drive the transition from POC implementations to secure, testable and maintainable production software.

• Establish architecture decision records, review gates and production-readiness criteria.

• Ensure designs support auditability, explainability, human approval and dedicated customer-instance isolation.

• Work with the Cloud Architect on deployment, resilience, observability and operational requirements.

 What You Bring

• Strong experience as a Software Architect, Systems Architect, Solution Architect or senior technical lead.

• Proven experience taking platforms or complex applications from prototype into production.

• Strong backend, API and integration architecture skills.

• Experience with modular, distributed or event-driven systems.

• Strong understanding of domain boundaries, data design, versioning and system evolution.

• Ability to review and improve code and designs produced by others.

• Sound judgement across maintainability, performance, security, scalability and technical debt.

• Willingness to remain technically hands-on.

• Openness to working with AI agents as active engineering contributors.

 Useful Experience

• Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, pgvector, Redis and OpenAPI.

• AI- or LLM-integrated applications.

• AI-assisted software development or agentic engineering workflows.

• Workflow, rule-engine or decision-management platforms.

• Banking, fintech, insurance or another regulated industry.

• Audit-heavy systems, human-in-the-loop controls or explainable decision systems.

• Architecture governance, ADRs and formal design-review processes.

 What Success Looks Like

Within the first year, XIONEX has:

• a clear and approved software reference architecture;

• repeatable POC-to-production standards;

• governed use of AI agents across software engineering;

• clean separation between deterministic and probabilistic components;

• explicit human review and decision gates;

• and architecture documentation suitable for engineering, operations and customer due diligence.
