Job Summary

The Commis III – Baker is responsible for assisting in the daily bakery operations by preparing bread, rolls, and basic bakery items according to hotel standards. This role supports senior pastry chefs while ensuring hygiene, food safety, and quality standards are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and baking of bread, rolls, pastries, and basic bakery products
• Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines
• Prepare mise en place as instructed by senior chefs
• Ensure cleanliness and proper hygiene of the bakery work area at all times
• Comply with hotel food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards
• Properly store raw materials and finished products
• Assist in receiving and checking bakery ingredients for freshness and quality
• Operate bakery equipment safely and correctly
• Support the team during banquets, events, and high-volume service periods
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef

Requirements & Qualifications

• Basic culinary or bakery certificate is an advantage
• Minimum 6 months – 1 year of experience in a bakery or hotel kitchen preferred
• Basic knowledge of bread baking and bakery techniques
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Physically fit and able to work in a kitchen environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,300.00 per month
