Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commis Cook III to support daily kitchen operations and assist senior chefs in delivering high-quality dishes. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in food preparation, maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety, and contribute to the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook ingredients according to established recipes and kitchen standards.
• Assist the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily food production and service.
• Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation.
• Prepare mise en place and ensure all ingredients are ready before service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock rotation (FIFO), and minimise food wastage.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and labelling of food items in compliance with food safety standards.
• Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff and Commis Cooks where required.
• Comply with all Singapore Food Agency (SFA) food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
• Support kitchen operations during busy service periods and special events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Head Chef.

Requirements

• Professional culinary qualification is an advantage.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen or similar role.
• Good knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
