Position Summary
We are seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead the overall business performance, strategic growth, and operational excellence of a confidential, Malaysia-based mining and industrial company. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role will drive sustainable expansion, maximize financial performance, and build a high-performance culture that aligns people, technology, and processes with the company’s long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute corporate strategies that accelerate business growth and market expansion.
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments that enhance long-term value.
- Translate corporate vision into actionable business plans with measurable outcomes.
Financial & Commercial Performance
- Deliver sustainable revenue growth while improving profitability and cash flow.
- Drive both topline growth and bottom-line performance through commercial excellence and cost optimization.
- Ensure effective financial governance, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
Operational Excellence
- Lead end-to-end operations to achieve world-class standards in safety, productivity, quality, and reliability.
- Improve operational efficiency through process optimization, digitalization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to expected quality standards.
Organizational Transformation
- Champion cultural transformation by fostering accountability, ownership, collaboration, and performance excellence.
- Reset organizational mindset towards innovation, agility, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Build a connected organization by aligning people, systems, technology, and business processes.
People & Leadership
- Develop a high-performing leadership team and build a strong talent pipeline.

- Maintain strong relationships with shareholders, government authorities, regulators, customers, contractors, investors, and local communities.

- Represent the company professionally in industry forums and strategic engagements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mining, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related discipline. MBA is highly preferred.
- Minimum 15–20 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5-8 years in a senior executive role within the mining, construction, projects, infrastructure, or heavy industrial sector.
- Demonstrated success in leading mid-sized scale business transformation, operational turnaround, or company expansion.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven achievement in revenue growth, profitability improvement, and capital project delivery.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams across operations, engineering, finance, commercial, and corporate functions.
