Role: Associate Analytical Chemist (1 Year Contract)
Location: Subang Jaya, Selangor
About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Analytical Chemist to contribute to advanced analytical testing, material characterization, and scientific innovation. The role plays an important part in raw material qualification, quality control, cost optimization, and supply-risk mitigation through the evaluation of alternative materials, analysis of incoming materials, and retesting of materials approaching expiry. It also offers exposure to material science research, database development, and the advancement of analytical methodologies—strengthening technical capabilities and supporting the quality and reliability of raw materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical characterization and performance studies of alternative raw materials to support cost-optimization and supply-risk mitigation initiatives, using analytical techniques such as GC–MS, UPLC–PDA, GPC, ATR–FTIR, and Potentiometry.
- Provide bioanalytical support to formulation teams in evaluating product performance and substantiating claims, including in vitro SPF analysis, fragrance-retention testing, and anti-malodour performance studies.
- Perform benchmark analyses to generate comparative insights and support formulation and material-selection decisions.
- Conduct raw material investigations to identify quality or performance issues and support effective technical resolutions.
- Develop analytical methodologies for active-ingredient recovery and other relevant applications.
- Perform validation studies for newly developed analytical methods, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and fitness for purpose.
- Support scientists with relevant chemical analyses, interpretation of results, and technical investigations.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, analytical data, and technical documentation in accordance with established quality and operational requirements.
- Contribute to laboratory operations and undertake other relevant responsibilities assigned by management.
