Job Description:

The Nurse Manager provides leadership and supervision of daily operations for assigned services or patient care units. Assures the delivery of quality, patient-centered care in a manner reflective of the Medical Center's mission, vision and values. Possesses managerial and clinical skills appropriate to the scope of responsibility. Manages the cost center's fiscal, material and human resources emphasizing staff retention strategies. Participates in department, division and organization-wide initiatives focusing on regulatory compliance and performance improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate and communicate with the unit staffs and other multidisciplinary team members.
• Provide guidance, supervision and motivation to promote the on-going development of nursing care and nursing service in the unit.
• Guide and supervise unit staffs, demonstrate effectiveness in interpersonal relationship and role model to all her subordinates.
• Work closely with Charge Nurse to ensure harmonious working environment within team members
• Responsible to ensure daily operation of the unit.
• Plans, organizes, communicates and supervise documents and evaluates the total care plan for the patients.
• Maintains control of the accurate unit charging of all procedures consumable, medications and equipment used.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the department is maintained at all times.
• Provides or coordinate preceptor-ship to new employees and students.
• Participates and contributes in unit meetings and other committees towards
• Improvement of the delivery of nursing care.
• Participate and monitor of quality indicators to measure care and services rendered
• to customers and for continuous improvement.
• Maintain required unit records, reports and statistics for administrative purpose and
• budget preparation as scheduled.
• Ensure staff attained the requirement of the competent log / privileging within the stipulated time frame.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma/Degree in Nursing,
• Added advantage for those with any Post Basic.
• Relevant working experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
• Experience in the specialized area would be an added advantage.
