Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Marine Engineer role based in Kuala Lumpur. The Marine Engineer will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing marine vessels and related systems to ensure safe and efficient operation. Daily tasks include conducting technical assessments, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, planning preventive maintenance, and supervising repair activities. The role involves collaborating with marine operations teams, preparing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant maritime rules and regulations. The Marine Engineer will also support continuous improvement initiatives for vessel performance and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Marine Engineering principles and practices, including vessel systems and marine machinery.
- Experience in the Marine Industry or Maritime sector, with familiarity in port operations and vessel management.
- Background in Navy or naval operations is an advantage, with understanding of marine safety and defense-related requirements.
- Hands-on experience in Maintenance & Repair of marine equipment, propulsion systems, and auxiliary machinery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams on-site.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel to ports, shipyards, and vessels within Malaysia as operational needs require.
