Responsible for leading and managing the company's procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, goods, and services. This role oversees supplier management, contract negotiations, procurement processes, and cost optimization initiatives while ensuring quality, compliance, and uninterrupted support for manufacturing operations. The incumbent also leads the procurement team and drives continuous improvement in procurement efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the procurement team to ensure efficient day-to-day purchasing operations.
- Plan, source, negotiate, and procure raw materials, components, equipment, and services to support manufacturing requirements.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and value engineering initiatives.
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost competitiveness, and reliable delivery.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, quotation comparison, purchase order issuance, and contract administration.
- Coordinate and manage procurement activities for renovation projects, including tendering, vendor selection, and project timeline monitoring.
- Ensure timely material deliveries to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations and production schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance through regular evaluations on quality, cost, delivery, and service levels.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Finance, and Warehouse teams to ensure procurement activities align with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supplier metrics.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and operational excellence.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in supplier sourcing, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and cost management.
- Experience in import and export procurement processes and logistics coordination is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate quotations, analyze costs, and make data-driven decisions.
- Good negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and ERP systems.
- Able to work independently while effectively leading and supporting a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
