Job Summary:
The Mould Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on moulds to ensure production efficiency and part quality. The role ensures that moulds are maintained in optimal working condition, reducing downtime and extending tool life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on moulds as per schedule.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mould-related issues (e.g., flash, short shot, wear and tear).
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble mould components.
- Polish mould cavities and cores using appropriate tools and methods.
- Replace damaged or worn mould components (e.g., ejector pins, inserts, bushings).
- Maintain accurate records of mould servicing and repairs.
- Ensure moulds are properly stored and protected during non-use.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address mould-related concerns.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the tooling area.
- Assist in improving mould designs or modifying existing moulds to enhance productivity or quality.
Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Tool & Die, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in mould maintenance (injection moulding or die casting preferred).
- Strong understanding of mould structure, operation, and materials.
- Skilled in using hand tools, grinders, polishing tools, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read technical drawings and tooling blueprints.
- Basic welding and machining (lathe/milling) skills are an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in shifts and support overtime when needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
