About Substance Films

Substance Films is a wedding and events videography company dedicated to capturing couples' and clients' most meaningful moments with cinematic quality and care. We're looking for a motivated Videography Intern to join our team and get hands-on experience across weddings and event coverage, from pre-production planning through to final delivery.

About the Role

As a Videography Intern, you'll support our videographers across active wedding and event projects, gaining real-world experience in how a working videography studio operates. This role requires a minimum commitment of 6 months, as we're looking for someone who can build continuity with the team, get comfortable across a full season of weddings and events, and grow into increasing responsibility over time.

Responsibilities

Assist with shoots and post-editing

Support on-site filming at weddings and other events (corporate, private, and social events), including setup, breakdown, and general assistance

Assist with basic footage organization

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Must know camera operation (framing, exposure, focus, and basic settings) — hands-on experience required
• Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months with the team, including availability on weekends (most weddings and events take place Fri–Sun)
• Strong interest in videography, storytelling, and the wedding/events industry
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, emotionally significant environment
• Comfortable with physical tasks (lifting equipment, being on your feet for long hours during shoot days)
• Prior wedding, event, or shoot experience is a plus but not required
