Job Description

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

As an Equity Trade Control Analyst, you will immerse yourself in the daily operations of equity trading support, acting as a dependable point of contact for multiple teams across the organisation. Your responsibilities will include overseeing transaction booking, reconciliation, break resolution, and regulatory reporting for a variety of products such as derivatives, swaps, cash equities, exotics, delta one instruments, and listed securities. You will collaborate closely with Sales & Trading Desks as well as Operations and Client Services teams to ensure seamless trade settlements.

  • Provide operational support for derivative, swap, and cash products as well as regulatory reporting by ensuring all processes are executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure transactions are booked into the trading system promptly and reconciled with precision to maintain data integrity across all platforms.
  • Deliver resolutions to breaks by investigating discrepancies thoroughly and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely closure.
  • Support Sales and Trading Desks by addressing issues and enquiries related to trade processing, bookings, and breaks with a focus on clear communication and dependable service.
  • Work closely with Operations and Client Services teams to facilitate the timely settlement of trades while maintaining strong inter-personal relationships across departments.
  • Devise proactive control procedures aimed at preventing operational risk to the firm by identifying potential vulnerabilities and implementing robust solutions.
  • Manage ad-hoc projects by liaising with internal and external counterparts in different regions, ensuring effective coordination and successful project outcomes.
  • Solve problems or issues collaboratively with various stakeholders by applying analytical thinking and nurturing connections throughout the organisation.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Equity Trade Control Analyst position brings proven experience from reputable investment banks or financial institutions—particularly within equities business areas covering cash products and derivatives. Your technical proficiency in Excel (medium+), VBA & SQL programming equips you to manage complex data sets while automating routine tasks. You possess strong inter-personal skills that allow you to connect with colleagues from diverse backgrounds; your ability to communicate clearly ensures smooth collaboration across departments.

  • Degree qualification is essential for this role as it demonstrates your commitment to academic excellence and foundational knowledge.
  • Proficiency in MS Product Suite—especially medium or advanced Excel skills—is required so you can handle complex data analysis tasks efficiently.
  • VBA & SQL programming skills are preferable as they enable you to automate processes and manage large datasets effectively.
  • Knowledge of equities business—including flow products, exotics, delta one instruments, listed securities—is highly desirable for understanding trade nuances.
  • Experience or familiarity with regulatory reporting is preferable so you can ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Understanding of internal controls such as audit procedures, access control mechanisms, or breaks investigation is advantageous for maintaining operational integrity.
