We are seeking a Quantity Surveying Manager to lead the Quantity Surveying function and oversee the commercial management of construction projects from tender through completion. The role is responsible for commercial strategy, cost management, procurement, contract administration, project profitability, and the development of the Quantity Surveying team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies for tenders and construction projects.
- Lead tender management, procurement planning, tender evaluation, commercial negotiations, and subcontract awards.
- Review and approve Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, tender submissions, and commercial documentation.
- Establish and monitor project budgets, cost management frameworks, cash flow forecasts, and profitability across multiple projects.
- Identify commercial risks, cost optimisation opportunities, and value engineering initiatives, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Oversee contract administration, variations, contractual claims, EOTs, disputes, interim payments, and final accounts.
- Lead negotiations with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders on commercial and contractual matters.
- Ensure contractual, regulatory, company, and commercial governance requirements are consistently met across projects.
- Provide strategic commercial advice to senior management and project teams on cost, contracts, procurement, and project profitability.
- Prepare and present commercial and financial performance reports to senior management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quantity Surveying team, including manpower planning, work allocation, performance management, and technical guidance.
- Establish and improve commercial processes, standard operating procedures, and best practices across the Quantity Surveying function.
- Support business development and new project opportunities through commercial input, tender strategy, and cost advice.
- Develop and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships to support project delivery and business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial practices and support the achievement of the company's financial and operational objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant quantity surveying experience in the construction industry.
