Nano Lab Analytical Sdn. Bhd. is an independent commercial analytical laboratory providing testing services to the pharmaceutical, food, animal feed, veterinary, agriculture, and related industries.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Chemist to take a leading technical role in method development, laboratory operations, ISO/IEC 17025 compliance, and the development of new testing services.
Key Responsibilities1. Expand Commercial Testing Capabilities
Research, identify, develop, and validate new analytical testing methods and parameters.
Evaluate market and client requirements to identify opportunities for new laboratory services.
Establish new testing capabilities to expand Nano Lab's commercial service portfolio.
2. Advanced Analytical Testing
Perform and oversee advanced analytical testing, method development, verification, and validation.
Operate and troubleshoot analytical instruments including HPLC, GC, ICP-OES, UV-Vis, FTIR, and other laboratory equipment.
Provide technical solutions for complex analytical testing requirements.
3. Documentation & Technical Authority
Author, review, and approve laboratory SOPs, Work Instructions, analytical protocols, test methods, specifications, and related technical documents.
Ensure laboratory documentation is accurate, controlled, and compliant with applicable requirements.
4. ISO/IEC 17025 & Quality Leadership
Ensure laboratory activities comply with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Act as a key technical person during internal and external audits.
Support the maintenance, improvement, and expansion of the laboratory's accreditation scope.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in laboratory quality and efficiency.
5. Troubleshooting, OOS & CAPA
Lead investigations involving OOS results, testing deviations, abnormal results, and finished product failures.
Conduct root cause investigations and determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Implement and monitor CAPA effectively.
6. Stability Testing
Design and manage long-term and accelerated stability study programs where applicable.
Review and evaluate stability data and prepare technical reports.
Support clients with analytical requirements related to product registration and regulatory submissions.
7. Equipment & Procurement Management
Manage the lifecycle of analytical instruments, including qualification, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Liaise and negotiate with equipment suppliers for the procurement of analytical instruments, reference standards, reagents, and laboratory consumables.
Evaluate new technologies and equipment to improve laboratory capabilities and productivity.
8. Team Leadership & Mentorship
Train, mentor, and supervise junior chemists, laboratory analysts, and technicians.
Provide technical guidance and review the work of laboratory personnel.
Establish good laboratory practices and improve the technical competency and efficiency of the laboratory team.
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in a commercial analytical or testing laboratory.
Strong hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, ICP-OES and other analytical instruments.
Proven experience in analytical method development, verification, and validation.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with ISO/IEC 17025.
Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Good leadership and communication skills.
Able to work independently and take ownership of technical projects.
Experience dealing with laboratory equipment suppliers and procurement is an advantage.
