Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical & Engineering Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring machinery, equipment, and engineering systems are properly maintained and operating efficiently to support smooth and continuous production.

The role will involve supervising maintenance activities, coordinating machine repairs and servicing, supporting engineering projects, and working closely with the Production and other departments to resolve equipment-related issues.

Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Maintenance

• Supervise daily engineering and maintenance activities within the manufacturing facility.
• Ensure production machinery and equipment are maintained in good working condition.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Respond to machine breakdowns and coordinate troubleshooting and repair works.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify potential maintenance issues.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed properly and within the required timeframe.
• Maintain records of equipment maintenance, repairs, breakdowns, and servicing.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when required.

Engineering Projects & Improvement

• Assist in planning and implementing engineering, machinery, and facility improvement projects.
• Support machine installation, modification, upgrading, and commissioning activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and productivity.
• Coordinate engineering works with Production and other relevant departments.
• Monitor contractors and ensure project works are completed according to requirements.
• Provide technical support for new equipment and process improvements.

Team Supervision

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance technicians and engineering personnel.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor work progress.
• Provide technical guidance and support during maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure the engineering team follows proper maintenance procedures and company requirements.
• Monitor team performance and identify training or development needs.
• Promote good housekeeping, teamwork, and safe working practices.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure engineering and maintenance activities are carried out safely and according to company procedures.
• Support implementation of workplace safety requirements for machinery and maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
• Support internal inspections, audits, and corrective actions related to engineering and maintenance.
• Report equipment safety concerns and recommend appropriate corrective actions.

Spare Parts & Documentation

• Monitor the availability of essential maintenance spare parts and materials.
• Coordinate with Purchasing and suppliers for required engineering parts and services.
• Maintain proper engineering and maintenance documentation.
• Prepare basic maintenance reports and provide updates to management.
• Maintain records of machine breakdowns and maintenance activities for future reference.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, or a related industry.
• Experience in supervising or leading a maintenance team is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of machinery maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Able to identify and resolve basic mechanical and equipment-related problems.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
• Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with different departments.
• Good documentation and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Willing to work overtime or attend to urgent machine breakdowns when required.
