Tanggungjawab

To support daily store and warehouse operations by ensuring proper receiving, checking, storing, issuing, handling, and recording of materials and goods. The Store Assistant is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, proper storage conditions, good housekeeping, and compliance with company safety procedures.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Receiving & Inspection

  • Receive raw materials, components, finished goods, consumables, and other incoming items.
  • Verify quantity, item code, description, and condition against Purchase Order (PO), Delivery Order (DO), and related documents.
  • Check incoming materials for visible damage or discrepancies.
  • Report shortages, excess quantities, wrong items, or damaged goods to the Store Supervisor.
  • Assist with receiving documentation and system transactions.

B. Material Storage

  • Arrange materials according to designated storage locations.
  • Ensure all materials are properly labelled, identified, and segregated.
  • Follow FIFO/FEFO requirements where applicable.
  • Ensure materials are stored safely and protected from damage, contamination, or deterioration.
  • Maintain proper storage records and location identification.

C. Material Issuing

  • Prepare and issue materials to Production and other departments based on approved material requests.
  • Verify item code, description, quantity, and required specifications before issuing.
  • Record all material movements accurately.
  • Ensure issued materials are properly documented and traceable.

D. Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all materials and stock.
  • Perform daily stock checking and cycle counting as required.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual physical stocktaking.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and report findings to the supervisor.
  • Assist in monitoring slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and damaged stock.
  • Ensure system stock and physical stock are properly reconciled.

E. Warehouse Handling

  • Perform loading and unloading of materials and goods.
  • Move materials using trolley, pallet jack, forklift, or other approved equipment when authorized.
  • Arrange materials systematically to maximize available storage space.
  • Ensure materials are handled carefully to prevent damage.
  • Support internal transfer of materials between warehouse and production areas.

F. Documentation & Record Control

  • Maintain proper records for:
  • Delivery Orders (DO)
  • Purchase Orders (PO)
  • Goods Received Notes (GRN)
  • Material Requisition Forms
  • Stock Transfer Records
  • Stock Adjustment Records
  • Inventory Records
  • Ensure store transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
  • File and maintain store documents for traceability and audit purposes.
  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.

G. Production Support

  • Ensure required materials are available for production according to approved requests.
  • Coordinate with Production and Material Planning regarding material availability.
  • Inform the supervisor of shortages or potential material shortages.
  • Support urgent material requests when required.
  • Return unused or excess materials to the designated storage area and update records accordingly.

H. 5S & Housekeeping

  • Maintain cleanliness and proper organization of the store and warehouse.
  • Follow company 3R/5S requirements.
  • Keep aisles, walkways, emergency exits, fire equipment, and access areas unobstructed.
  • Ensure materials are arranged neatly and safely.
  • Participate in housekeeping activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

I. Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when required.
  • Handle materials and equipment safely.
  • Follow proper procedures for chemical or hazardous material storage where applicable.
  • Immediately report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or other hazards.
  • Attend required safety, environmental, quality, and compliance training.

J. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure materials are properly identified and protected against mix-up.
  • Prevent unauthorized movement or issuance of materials.
  • Follow applicable company SOPs, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required store records and information.
  • Cooperate with Quality, Production, Purchasing, and other relevant departments.

K. Equipment & Facility

  • Conduct basic checks of store/warehouse equipment and facilities.
  • Report damaged racks, pallets, trolleys, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment.
  • Ensure storage racks and material handling areas are used according to safety requirements.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping around storage equipment and facilities.

L. Other Duties

  • Assist during stock audits and inventory verification.
  • Support warehouse improvement projects and process optimization.
  • Perform other store/warehouse-related duties assigned by the Store Supervisor, Store Manager, or Management.
  • Support other departments when required within the scope of the position.

3. Authority / Responsibility

  • Responsible for the proper handling and storage of assigned materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate store records and inventory transactions.
  • Responsible for reporting discrepancies, damages, shortages, and unsafe conditions.
  • Not authorized to approve stock adjustments, material disposal, or material issuance outside established procedures unless delegated by management.

4. Required Qualifications

  • Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in warehouse/store operations is an advantage.
  • Fresh graduates may be considered.
  • Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel, are preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/Warehouse Management System is an advantage.
  • Forklift license/certification is an advantage where the position requires forklift operation.

  • Good understanding of workplace safety and 5S.

6. Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

  • Inventory accuracy.
  • Receiving and issuing accuracy.
  • Timeliness of material receiving and issuing.
  • Inventory discrepancy rate.
  • Stock damage/loss rate.
  • Documentation accuracy.
  • 5S and housekeeping compliance.
  • Safety compliance.
  • On-time completion of stock counting.
  • Compliance with store SOP and work instructions.

7. Working Environment

  • Work is primarily performed in a store/warehouse environment.
  • May involve standing, walking, lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials.
  • May require working around production areas, material handling equipment, and warehouse traffic.
  • Required to comply with company PPE and safety requirements at all times.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,400.00 per month
