Job Title: Penetration Testing Coordinator
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)
Must Have
• Minimum 2 years of Project Management or Process Coordination experience
• Experience in Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) coordination
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills
• Knowledge of Vulnerability Management lifecycle and remediation tracking
• Hands-on exposure to Qualys, Rapid7, Nessus, or Tanium Comply
• Security governance, reporting, and audit support experience
• Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills
Good-to-Have
• Cyber Security domain experience
• Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS/Azure)
• Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes environments
• ITIL Foundation knowledge
• Exposure to Banking or Financial Services security programs
• Agile, PMP, or PRINCE2 certification
Functional Skills from the Role
Roles and Responsibilities
• Coordinate and manage end-to-end penetration testing engagements across business and technology teams.
• Maintain annual security testing schedules and track testing activities against planned timelines.
• Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to facilitate Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) activities.
• Coordinate project onboarding, testing scope reviews, Statements of Work (SOW), and related governance documentation.
• Organize governance meetings, prepare agendas, document meeting minutes, and track action items to closure.
• Support regulatory audits, security assessments, and compliance reviews by providing required testing evidence and reports.
• Monitor remediation activities and ensure identified vulnerabilities are tracked until closure.
• Maintain security testing dashboards, metrics, reports, and management information for leadership reviews.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Application, Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to address security findings and operational risks.
• Assist in risk assessment activities and ensure alignment with enterprise cyber security policies and standards.
• Support technology refresh projects, application upgrades, platform migrations, and related security testing requirements.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and drive operational efficiency within the penetration testing function.
• Ensure adherence to cyber security governance frameworks, risk management standards, and enterprise security controls.
• Escalate risks, delays, and critical issues proactively to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Security Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Management programs.
Educational Qualification
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, or equivalent discipline.
Certifications (Preferred)
• PMP
• PRINCE2
• Agile / Scrum Certifications
• ITIL Foundation
• Security-related certifications (Good to Have)
