As part of its regional supply chain expansion strategy, the organization is seeking a
Regional Category Development Manager to lead supplier ecosystem development, sourcing initiatives, and manufacturing capability enhancement across Asia. This role will play a key part in strengthening supplier partnerships, expanding regional capacity, and driving strategic projects that improve supply chain agility, operational performance, and long-term business sustainability.
Job Description
- Lead supplier sourcing, qualification, and development activities to support long-term capacity growth and operational requirements.
- Drive regional supplier ecosystem expansion and capability enhancement initiatives.
- Develop and execute localization and supply base optimization strategies across Asia.
- Manage supplier qualification, onboarding, and industrialization programs to ensure production readiness and supply continuity.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing ramp-ups, supplier transfers, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Identify and implement value chain improvement opportunities including inventory optimization, lead-time reduction, and supplier collaboration programs.
- Monitor supply market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging risks to support long-term sourcing decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and responsiveness metrics.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in category management, supplier development, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience within manufacturing, industrial, precision engineering, or high-technology environments.
- Strong understanding of supplier qualification, industrialization, manufacturing operations, and sourcing strategies.
- Experience managing regional supplier development and cross-functional projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management, project leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a strategic mindset.
- Exposure to Asia supply chain ecosystems and localization initiatives would be highly advantageous
