PRINTER OPERATOR – COLTEX PRODUCTION PRINTING
TMX FACTORY is looking for a Printer Operator to operate and manage our Coltex 8 Head production printer. The role is responsible for ensuring all printing jobs are produced accurately, consistently and according to TMX FACTORY production standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Machine Operation
- Operate Coltex 8 Head printer for daily production.
- Perform machine setup before starting each printing job.
- Monitor printer operation throughout the production process.
- Ensure correct printing settings, ink and printing media are used.
- Ensure machine operates smoothly and efficiently.
2. Print Quality Control
- Check printing quality including colour, alignment, sharpness, banding, nozzle and other printing defects.
- Conduct first-print checking before proceeding with bulk production.
- Monitor print quality from the beginning until completion of each job.
- Stop production and report immediately if serious printing defects are detected.
3. Artwork & Print File Checking
- Check print files before production to ensure they are print-ready.
- Verify size, colour, placement, orientation, pola/polar and artwork version.
- Ensure only APPROVED artwork is used for production.
- Report any artwork or file issues to the Designer / Polar team before printing.
4. Production & Job Management
- Follow Job Order and daily production schedule.
- Ensure the correct quantity is printed for every job.
- Label and organise printed materials according to Job Number.
- Handover completed printing to the next production department, especially Heat.
- Ensure no job is missed, mixed up or left unrecorded.
5. Defect & Reprint Management
- Identify and separate defective prints.
- Record reject and reprint quantities.
- Identify the possible cause of printing defects.
- Report machine, ink, paper, artwork or setting issues to the PIC / Supervisor.
- Carry out reprint only after confirmation from the PIC.
6. Machine Maintenance
- Perform daily machine checks and basic maintenance according to SOP.
- Monitor print head, nozzle and ink system condition.
- Keep the printer and surrounding work area clean.
- Report machine breakdown or technical problems immediately.
- Avoid unnecessary machine downtime and material wastage.
7. Ink & Material Management
- Check ink and printing media before production.
- Monitor ink and material usage.
- Minimise wastage during printing.
- Report low stock of ink, paper or other printing materials to the PIC.
- Ensure materials are stored and handled properly.
8. Production Reporting
- Record daily printing output.
- Record completed Job Numbers and quantities.
- Record reject / reprint quantities.
- Record machine downtime and production issues.
- Provide accurate production information to the Supervisor / PIC.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in digital printing, sublimation printing or textile printing is an advantage.
- Experience operating Coltex or similar production printing machines is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of sublimation printing and print quality.
- Able to identify common printing defects.
- Detail-oriented, especially with colour, size, placement and quantity.
- Able to follow SOP, Job Order and production schedule.
- Able to work under production deadlines and targets.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Responsible, disciplined and willing to learn.
- Willing to work overtime when required to meet production deadlines.
Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,501.11 per month
Work Location: In person
