The Caregiver will provide direct care and support to clients undergoing addiction treatment. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring client safety, providing emotional support, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to foster a safe and nurturing recovery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, mobility, exercise, etc.).
- Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well-being, reporting changes to medical/clinical staff.
- Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to clients during recovery.
- Ensure adherence to rehabilitation schedules, routines, and treatment plans.
- Support clients in participating in therapy sessions, group activities, and wellness programs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.
- Administer medication (if trained and authorized) under supervision of medical staff.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and follow safety procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect clients’ dignity at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum SPM qualification; certificate/diploma in healthcare, nursing, psychology, or related field is an advantage.
- Prior experience as a caregiver, nurse aide, or healthcare assistant preferred (experience in addiction/mental health settings is highly desirable).
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic personality.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit to support clients with mobility and daily tasks.
- Willingness to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
