SITE SUPERVISION
- Supervise and monitor daily ship repair, maintenance, fabrication, and docking works.
- Ensure work is carried out according to approved work instructions, drawings, and quality standards.
- Monitor daily work progress and report project status to the Senior Site Supervisor.
- Ensure work is completed within the scheduled timeframe.
MANPOWER COORDINATION
- Assign daily work to workers and monitor productivity.
- Supervise workers to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
- Coordinate daily activities between different work teams and subcontractors.
- Address minor operational and manpower issues and escalate major issues to the Senior Site Supervisor.
QUALITY CONTROL & INSPECTION
- Perform routine inspections during repair works to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Conduct pre-docking inspections, including vessel plate thickness measurements where required.
- Monitor the quality of subcontractor works, including steel fitting, welding, and fabrication activities.
- Report defects, non-conformities, and repair issues for corrective action.
MATERIAL, EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY
- Ensure materials, tools, and equipment required for daily operations are available.
- Monitor the proper use and care of company tools and equipment.
- Coordinate with the Storekeeper to ensure sufficient inventory for ongoing repair works.
- Report shortages or damaged equipment to the Senior Site Supervisor.
DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING
- Prepare daily work progress reports.
- Assist in preparing docking reports, inspection reports, meeting minutes, and other operational documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of manpower, work completed, and material usage.
- Submit reports within the required timelines.
SAFETY & HOUSEKEEPING
- Ensure workers comply with company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Conduct or participate in toolbox meetings as required.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or unsafe work practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
YARD SUPPORT
- Assist in maintaining shipyard facilities, machinery, and operational equipment.
- Support the Senior Site Supervisor in ensuring smooth day-to-day yard operations.
- Perform periodic vessel inspections as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Senior Site Supervisor or Management.
- REQUIREMENTS1. Must have Diploma/ Degree in Marine Engineering/ Shipbuilding or related field.2. Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or marine engineering.3. Experience supervising shipyard or vessel repair activities is an advantage.4. Knowledge of ship repair, dry docking, fabrication, vessel inspection and welding works.5. Good communication, organizational, problem-solving skills.
