Job Description:

The Manufacturing Technician provides technical support to manufacturing operations by assisting with New Product Introduction (NPI), production processes, equipment maintenance, quality improvement, and continuous process optimization. The role supports Manufacturing Engineers in ensuring efficient production, maintaining product quality, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, implementing engineering changes, and achieving production targets in compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Engineering & Support:

• Support the development, documentation, and optimization of SMT, wave soldering, selective soldering, and manual assembly processes.
• Conduct process trials and DOE (Design of Experiments) to resolve yield issues and improve process capability (Cpk).
• Perform and document first-article inspection (FAI) and in-process quality checks.

2. New Product Introduction (NPI):

• Support NPI activities including DFM/DFA review, process feasibility assessment, and engineering build execution.
• Assist in BOM scrubbing, component cross-referencing, and AVL (Approved Vendor List) validation.
• Generate and maintain work instructions (WI), process flow charts, control plans, and FMEA documentation.
• Coordinating pre-production builds — prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT — and escalate issues through the NPI gate review process.
• Participate in cross-functional checkpoint reviews to ensure accountability at each NPI stage.

3. Quality & Defect Resolution:

• Support IPC-A-610 workmanship standards review and operator training.
• Review X-ray, AOI, and SPI data to identify process trends and drive corrective actions.

4. Equipment & Tooling

• Assist in fixture design and fabrication
• Maintain calibration records for process-critical equipment.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Actively participate in lean manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.
• Support UPH (Units Per Hour) improvement projects through line balancing and cycle time reduction.
• Identify and escalate DFM/DFA issues to the customer or NPI team for PCB or component redesign.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
• Minimum 2–4 years in an EMS or electronics manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with SMT processes: screen printing, reflow, wave/selective soldering, AOI, SPI, X-ray
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, J-STD-001; knowledge of RoHS and REACH compliance
• Ability to create and maintain WI, process flow, FMEA, control plans, and 8D/RCA reports

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
