About Mechamaker

Mechamaker is a STEM education company teaching children aged 5–15 the applied engineering behind today's technology — mechanical design, electronics, coding and robotics. Our students build real, working devices with their own hands, and learn to diagnose why a design didn't work and how to make it better. Our curriculum is established and proven, developed with an international technology and curriculum partner and backed by an experienced education group with a strong record in Malaysian education.

We're now launching our first enrichment centre in the Klang Valley — and we're looking for a General Manager to build it, grow it, and lead our expansion across Malaysia.

The Role

Reporting to the Group CEO, you'll hold full profit-and-loss accountability for the Mechamaker business. You will:

• Launch and run our first centre, hitting target enrolment and profitability
• Drive commercial performance — enrolment growth, revenue and cost control
• Build partnerships with international schools to set up maker spaces on their campuses
• Recruit, train and develop a high-quality teaching and admin team
• Lead expansion: identify new sites, build business cases, and document an operating playbook for national rollout

This is a hands-on leadership role. In a single week you might teach a class, interview a candidate, present to school leadership, and report on financial performance.

What We're Looking For

Required:

• A degree in mechanical, electrical/electronic engineering, mechatronics, computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field
• Prior profit-and-loss accountability (as a GM, business unit head, centre operator, or franchise owner)
• Proven experience recruiting, training and managing teams

Strongly preferred:

• Multi-site / multi-outlet operational experience
• Background in education, enrichment, childcare, or a multi-location service business

Advantageous:

• Experience selling or delivering programmes to schools or institutional buyers
• Hands-on familiarity with mechanical design, electronics, robotics, or software

A genuine interest in children's education is essential.
