Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Operator (Mechanical Assembly) to join the dynamic manufacturing team at Estek Automation Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Batu Kawan, Penang. As a Mechanical Assembly Operator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring the precise assembly of mechanical components and systems that meet our stringent quality standards. This position is essential to maintaining our production schedules and delivering high-quality products to our clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor mechanical assembly machinery and equipment in accordance with operational procedures and safety guidelines

  • Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies following technical drawings, specifications and work instructions

  • Perform quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications

  • Maintain accurate records of production output, defects and any issues encountered during the assembly process

  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of assembly workstations and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency

  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report significant problems to supervisory staff promptly

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies within the manufacturing environment

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience operating mechanical assembly machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions accurately

  • Solid understanding of mechanical assembly processes and quality control procedures

  • Experience with precision measurement tools such as callipers, gauges and micrometres

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills

  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a production team

  • Good communication skills and willingness to follow instructions

  • Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods

  • Relevant vocational qualification or certification in mechanical assembly or manufacturing operations (preferred)

  • Experience with CNC machinery or automated assembly systems (preferred but not essential)
