WE’RE HIRING: HYDRAULIC EXTRUSION ENGINEER
Location: Seremban, Negeri Sembilan
Salary: RM8,000 per month
We are looking for an experienced Hydraulic Extrusion Engineer to manage extrusion processes, troubleshoot machinery, maintain hydraulic systems, and ensure consistent product quality in a recycled plastics manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor single-screw or twin-screw extrusion lines and hydraulic press systems used to process recycled plastics such as PP, ABS and HIPS into pellets or profiles.
- Set and control extrusion parameters including barrel temperature, pressure, screw speed, cooling conditions and material feed rates.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic pressure drops, barrel temperature faults, melt fractures, equipment instability and mechanical breakdowns.
- Identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions to minimise machine downtime.
- Conduct quality testing on recycled polymer granules, including melt flow index, tensile strength, colour consistency and other relevant material properties.
- Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and required quality standards.
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for hydraulic pumps, seals, valves, heaters, die heads and other extrusion equipment.
- Monitor machine condition and recommend process or equipment improvements to improve productivity, reliability and product consistency.
- Work closely with production, maintenance and quality teams to resolve technical and process-related issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant experience in plastic extrusion, recycled polymer processing or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on knowledge of single-screw and/or twin-screw extrusion systems.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic pumps, valves, seals, pressure systems and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of polymer processing parameters and recycled materials such as PP, ABS and HIPS.
- Experience with material testing and extrusion quality control is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to minimise production downtime.
