The Executive, Business Development supports the development of EV charging opportunities by identifying and qualifying potential sites, engaging key stakeholders, supporting commercial evaluation, and coordinating cross-functional activities through to approval and deployment readiness. The role requires strong commercial awareness, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills to help build a healthy pipeline and deliver sustainable value for Gentari.

Responsibilities

Pipeline Development

• Identify and qualify potential EV charging locations aligned with company strategy;
• Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective sites;
• Conduct desktop assessments on demographics, traffic, nearby amenities and competitor presence;
• Prioritise opportunities based on commercial viability.

Site Acquisition

• Engage landowners, property developers, retailers, government agencies and strategic partners;
• Arrange and conduct site visits;
• Negotiate commercial terms including rental, revenue/profit sharing/any other potential business model and tenure;
• Secure EV Charging System agreement or other preliminary agreements.

Commercial Evaluation

• Prepare business cases covering revenue potential, CAPEX estimation, utilisation assumptions, IRR and payback analysis;
• Recommend the optimal charger mix, including AC/DC type, power rating and quantity;
• Present recommendations for internal approval.

Cross-Functional Project Coordination

• Coordinate with the Project Team, Commercial Team, Legal, Finance and Operations;
• Ensure required documents are submitted for regulatory approvals;
• Monitor project milestones until Financial Investment Decision (FID) and deployment readiness.

Contract Management

• Support drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements;
• Track contract execution status;
• Ensure compliance with commercial obligations and approval requirements.

Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain relationships with property owners, government agencies, OEMs, fuel retailers, utilities and strategic partners;
• Act as the primary commercial point of contact throughout the acquisition process.

Market Intelligence

• Monitor EV adoption trends, competitor deployments, charging tariffs, government policies and industry developments.

Reporting & Governance

• Maintain BD pipeline internal tracker;
• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports;
• Track KPIs and escalate risks or delays.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in business development or commercial roles, preferably in energy, infrastructure, or adjacent sectors;
• Experience in green mobility and/or adjacent industries is an added advantage;
• Proven track record in structuring commercial deals, customer management, and opportunity development;
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in contract negotiation and financial modelling;
• Analytical and structured thinker with ability to translate market insights into actionable plans;
• Proficient in funnel management tools, financial analysis, and MS Office Suite;
• Strong presentation, communication, and influencing skills with effective thought structure;
• Understanding of EV charging, real estate or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
