Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor (Infrastructure) is responsible for managing all cost and contract aspects of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, drainage, and civil engineering works. This role ensures projects are delivered within budget, comply with specifications, and follow contractual requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Contract
- Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender documents for infrastructure projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for proposed works.
- Evaluate drawings, specifications, and engineering plans to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist in tender evaluations and contractor selection.
Post-Contract
- Manage project costs and ensure expenditures remain within approved budgets.
- Prepare progress claims, payment valuations, and variation orders.
- Monitor material usage, labour costs, and site progress to ensure accurate reporting.
- Conduct site visits to verify work done, measurements, and compliance with standards.
- Evaluate subcontractor claims and negotiate settlements.
- Update cost reports and advise management on financial risks or issues.
Contract Management
- Review project contracts, terms, conditions, and obligations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Prepare and manage documentation for claims, extensions of time (EOT), and dispute resolution.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on cost and contract matters.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and pricing.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year relevant experience in infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities, civil works).
- Strong knowledge of contract management, tendering processes, and construction standards.
- Proficient in QS software (e.g., CostX, Glodon, AutoCAD) is an advantage.
- Good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Willing to travel to project sites.
Working hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm (Monday - Friday)

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
