Role: Software Engineer, IT Application Management/Quality

About the Role:

The purpose of this job is to support technology solutions that improve visibility, accuracy, and automation across logistics, inventory, and warehouse functions. The senior software engineer enables the department to achieve higher productivity, minimize operational risks, and support continuous improvement of PROTON quality performance.

Your Day-To-Day:

Develop, Enhance & Maintain Logistics, Inventory and Warehouse Systems

WHAT:

Develop, enhance, and maintain logistics, inventory, and warehouse-related applications and system functionalities.

TO WHAT:

To support accurate inventory control, warehouse execution, and smooth logistics operations.

WHY:

To ensure system reliability, process stability, and efficient material flow across the supply chain.

HOW:

By applying best software engineering practices, performing thorough testing, and collaborating closely with business users and cross-functional teams.

Ensure System Integration, Data Accuracy & Operational Continuity

WHAT:

Manage, monitor, and optimize system integrations (SAP, MES, DMS, interfaces) and ensure data accuracy across platforms.

TO WHAT:

To provide real-time, consistent, and accurate data for planning, production, and warehouse operations.

WHY:

To reduce manual intervention, prevent disruptions, and support timely operational decision-making.

HOW:

Through proactive system monitoring, root-cause analysis, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of data flow processes.

Support Continuous Improvement, User Enablement & Compliance.

WHAT:

Provide user support, training, and documentation while driving digital and process improvement initiatives.

TO WHAT:

To strengthen system adoption, operational capability, and compliance with internal IT/business standards.

WHY:

To improve productivity, reduce operational risks, and enhance overall warehouse and logistics performance.

HOW:

By engaging stakeholders, performing problem analysis, delivering training materials, and implementing small-scale automation or workflow enhancements.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or any equivalent.
• Total Work Experience: 0 to 3 years
• Total Relevant Experience: 0 to 3 years in Information Technology (IT)
• Work Location: Proton City, Tanjung Malim

Specific Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

• Proficiency in software development (e.g., SAP, Java and SQL).
• Understanding of system integration (APIs, web services, IDocs, RFCs, middleware).
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems or Manufacturing Executions.
• Knowledge of database design, data modelling, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps tools (Azure, Alibaba Cloud).
