Job Summary: The civil-structural technician (CST) will provide comprehensive civil and structural engineering project administration and construction quality control on the Exuma Road Improvement (ExRIP) project. The position will primarily involve full-time involvement on the ExRIP project on the island of Exuma.


As a resident civil-structural technician (CST) you will be responsible to carry out civil and structural threshold inspections of all construction related activities. Additionally, the CST will handle project administration activities such as structural site instructions, request for information responses, coordination with the A&E design team and attending project meetings with the resident project manager, owner/contractor teams.


Successful candidate will have a strong academic background in either civil or structural engineering, and reputable experience working on luxury construction projects. The CST will report to the resident project manager and liaise with the civil and structural teams for technical direction.


Job Duties:

  • Manage all communications (RFI/Site Instructions/Submittals/Reports etc.) for all our structural and civil disciplines. This task includes maintaining timely responses to construction items, communicating with all engineers as needed to facilitate responses, and maintaining an up-to-date log.
  • Attend meetings with the contractor to discuss quality concerns/quality assurance issues.
  • Conduct all inspections and provide forms as necessary for weekly reports. Inspect concrete pours during and after the pour is completed.
  • Accompany Government agencies representative on inspections. Accompany design consultants and BRON visiting team members on walks during monthly site visits.
  • Issue weekly progress reports, with photographs confirming the progress on the project related to the program.
  • Prepare a monthly progress report, combining weekly reports and documenting all progress for the month.
  • Undertake final inspections and prepare completion certificate for the contract.
  • Carry out technical inspections as needed to ensure the construction is proceeding in accordance with the design intent.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a reputable and qualified university.
  • Five years (5yrs) or more experience working on construction sites.
  • Experience in performing structural engineering analysis preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sure Track and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Candidate must be available relocate to the family island for a minimum of two years.
  • Candidate must be willing to live on development site.
  • Candidate must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills and time management.
  • Ability to collaborate and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
