Role Description The fintech Engineer will work as part of a cross-functional team to design, develop, and maintain financial technology solutions that support trading, risk management, and investment operations. This part-time, hybrid role is based in Singapore, with a mix of on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and enhancing data-driven tools, integrating financial models into trading platforms, automating workflows, and ensuring system reliability and security. The fintech Engineer will collaborate with traders, analysts, and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, perform testing and performance tuning, and support continuous improvement of digital products used in LNG and hydrogen-related transactions.
Qualifications
- Strong programming and software development skills (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar), with experience building financial or data-intensive applications.
- Knowledge of financial markets, trading workflows, and risk or portfolio management concepts, ideally within commodities or energy trading.
- Proficiency in working with databases and data tools (SQL/NoSQL, data pipelines, APIs, and basic data analytics or visualization).
- Understanding of fintech architectures and best practices (cloud services, microservices, security, integration with trading and risk platforms).
- Ability to gather requirements, document solutions, and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; relevant fintech or energy trading experience is a strong advantage.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Singapore and managing time effectively in a part-time capacity.
- Interest in LNG, hydrogen derivatives, and sustainable energy markets, with a willingness to learn domain-specific concepts.
