St John’s Home for Elderly Persons is a Residential Home under the Ministry of Social and Family Affairs (MSF). We have been providing quality and compassionate care to seniors for over 60 years and will be transiting to a 174-bed Nursing Home under Ministry of Health in 2026.

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapy Assistant to support the rehabilitation and mobility needs of our nursing home residents. You will work closely with the Physiotherapist and care team to assist residents in achieving their highest level of functional independence, mobility, and quality of life. The ideal candidate is caring, patient-focused, physically fit, and passionate about working with older persons in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of individual and group rehabilitation programmes prescribed by the Physiotherapist
• Support residents in mobility, transfer training, ambulation, balance, strengthening and range-of-motion exercises
• Encourage and motivate residents to participate actively in therapy and wellness activities to maintain or improve functional abilities
• Assist residents with therapeutic activities that promote independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Observe residents' functional status and promptly report any concerns or changes in condition to the Physiotherapist or Nursing team
• Maintain accurate therapy documentation, attendance records, and activity logs
• Ensure therapy equipment and treatment areas are clean, safe, organized and compliant with infection control standards
• Support interdisciplinary care initiatives and collaborate with nursing, medical and allied health professionals to achieve residents' care goals
• Assist in resident transfers, feeding, and other care activities when required to support holistic resident care
• Participate in emergency response procedures and perform other duties as assigned by management

Established in December 1958, St. John's Home for Elderly Persons is a Sheltered Home for elderly persons who are ambulant and aged 60 and above, regardless of race or belief. The Home strives to be a place where ageing is celebrated, and where the elderly can live their golden years in comfort and dignity. The Home provides shelter and care to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of elderly persons who have no home and no children or close relatives with adequate resources to care for them.
