About the role

GENIUS COOLING TOWERS GLOBAL SDN BHD is seeking a Material Planner to join our Production, Planning & Scheduling team at our Nilai facility in Negeri Sembilan. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our supply chain and inventory management operations. As Material Planner, you will be responsible for forecasting material requirements, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely availability of raw materials and components to support our manufacturing operations. This role is essential to maintaining operational efficiency and meeting production schedules across our facility.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast material and component requirements based on production schedules, historical data and demand patterns

• Develop and maintain accurate inventory levels to balance supply availability with storage constraints

• Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate delivery schedules, lead times and pricing whilst ensuring quality standards are met

• Monitor inventory movements and reconcile stock records with physical counts on a regular basis

• Analyse supply chain data to identify inefficiencies, cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

• Liaise with production and operations teams to understand material requirements and adjust plans accordingly

• Manage purchase orders, expedite deliveries when required and resolve supplier-related issues promptly

• Prepare reports on inventory status, material costs and supply chain performance for management review

• Ensure compliance with inventory management policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering or a related field

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in material planning, inventory management or supply chain coordination, preferably within a manufacturing environment

• Proficiency in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with internal teams.

• Proven organisational ability with strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production scheduling

• Familiarity with cooling tower manufacturing or related industrial sectors is advantageous

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
