Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise and develop the Maintenance team.
Plan, implement and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Corrective Maintenance programmes.
Ensure maximum availability and reliability of production machinery and equipment.
Respond to major equipment breakdowns and coordinate effective troubleshooting and recovery.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
Manage maintenance activities for production machinery, electrical systems, mechanical systems, utilities and building facilities.
Monitor maintenance performance through KPIs including:
Ø Machine downtime
Ø Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF)
Ø Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
Ø Preventive Maintenance (PM) compliance
Ø Maintenance cost
Ø Equipment availability
Develop annual maintenance plans, budgets and proposals.
Manage maintenance spare parts, critical components and inventory levels.
Coordinate external contractors, suppliers and service providers.
Support installation, commissioning and upgrading of new machinery and production equipment.
Ensure maintenance work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Ensure maintenance activities support GMP, HACCP, food safety and hygiene requirements.
Ensure relevant statutory inspections, certifications and maintenance requirements are properly managed.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency, energy consumption, reliability and overall maintenance cost.
Maintain proper maintenance records, equipment history, PM schedules and technical documentation.
Provide technical support to Production and other departments to minimize production interruptions.
Train and develop technicians to improve technical competency and troubleshooting capability.
Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Be available to support critical breakdowns or maintenance emergencies when required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology or a related field.
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing maintenance/engineering.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience managing maintenance personnel.
Experience in food, bakery, FMCG or other high-volume manufacturing environments will be an advantage.
Strong hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance.
Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
Experience in troubleshooting machinery breakdowns.
Experience in maintenance planning, spare-parts management and maintenance KPI monitoring.
Experience in managing contractors and external service providers.
Good understanding of GMP, HACCP, food safety and workplace safety requirements.
Knowledge of statutory requirements related to machinery, electrical installations, pressure vessels, boilers or other relevant plant equipment is an advantage.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and maintenance management system.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
Willing to work beyond normal working hours when required for critical breakdowns or production emergencies.
