We are a Financial Literacy Network, looking to hire a full-time Journalist to take on financial-related content ranging from Market News, Business Deep dives, and Investment trends.

The role will require you to work closely with our Head of Content to create content that will invigorate our personal finance community. You will help manage the recording session, determine the story of each episode/ show, use equipment to edit the content, and evaluate content pitches from the hosts of the shows. Producers also fulfill a variety of other duties, such as interviewing sources, fact-checking, managing talent, and ensuring all new podcasts meet internal deadlines.

Scope:

• Conducting research to uncover interesting and significant news
• Assessing leads and pitching captivating story ideas to editors.
• Gathering, corroborating and interpreting data
• Interviewing key persons (witnesses, sources etc.) to obtain more information
• Using all your findings to prepare clean, concise, and factual articles and content pieces
• Reviewing and editing work for editorial approval.
• Creating trustworthy relationships with contacts and sources for use in future research.
• Keeping up-to-date on the latest news developments by attending events, studying different papers, opinion pieces, and social media.

• Have a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or relevant field and, or experience.
• Have an interest in Financial industry
• Have a burning passion for writing and love telling stories in a multitude of ways (NOT just pen and paper)
• Have a strong attention to detail
• Are able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Are willing to learn
• Able to meet deadlines.
• Have superb communication and networking skills, along with an aptitude to effectively extract information.
• Are proactive, and able to work autonomously
• Are organised and able to juggle varied workload
