Job Summary

Responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end testing strategy and delivery for banking applications and technology projects. The Test Manager ensures that software releases meet business, functional, technical, security, performance and regulatory requirements before production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall test management and quality assurance activities for banking technology projects.
• Develop and maintain the overall Test Strategy, Test Plan and Test Approach.
• Define testing scope, objectives, timelines, resources, deliverables and entry/exit criteria.
• Manage testing across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Coordinate different testing phases, including:
• System Testing
• SIT – System Integration Testing
• UAT – User Acceptance Testing
• Regression Testing
• Functional Testing
• Integration Testing
• API Testing
• Performance / Load Testing
• Security Testing
• Production Verification Testing
• Lead and manage Test Leads, Test Analysts, QA Engineers and testing vendors.
• Coordinate testing activities across business, development, infrastructure, security and application teams.
• Review business and technical requirements to ensure they are testable, complete and traceable.
• Ensure adequate test coverage for critical banking processes and business scenarios.
• Manage test cases, test scripts, test data and test execution.
• Establish and monitor defect management processes.
• Track defects through identification, prioritisation, investigation, remediation and closure.
• Conduct defect triage meetings with Development, BA, Business and Technology teams.
• Monitor testing progress, quality metrics, defect trends and test execution status.
• Prepare daily/weekly test status reports and management dashboards.
• Escalate testing risks, blockers, dependencies and critical defects to Project Managers and senior management.
• Ensure testing environments and test data are available and fit for purpose.
• Coordinate test environment readiness across application, infrastructure, database and integration teams.
• Manage testing vendors and third-party testing partners.
• Ensure testing activities comply with the bank's IT governance, security, risk, audit and regulatory requirements.
• Provide formal Go-Live / No-Go-Live recommendations based on testing results and outstanding risks.
• Support production deployment, post-production validation and production defect analysis.
• Conduct lessons-learned sessions and continuously improve the organisation's testing processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance, with significant Test Management experience.
• Strong experience managing large-scale testing projects within banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery models.
• Strong knowledge of SIT, UAT, regression, functional and integration testing.
• Experience with defect management tools such as Jira, ALM/Quality Center, Azure DevOps or similar.
• Good understanding of databases, SQL, APIs and system integration.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
• Excellent reporting, communication and leadership skills.
• Experience managing multiple testing teams and concurrent projects.
