Job Summary:

The role is a high-level strategic leader responsible for architecting MRANTI’s long-term growth, structural evolution, and strategic partnerships. This role drives the agenda in the opportunity areas of corporate structuring or restructuring, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), alliances, business model innovation and high-stakes government relations.

The role serves as an advisor to the Senior Leadership Team and the Board, translating national mandates (from MOSTI, MOF, etc.) into actionable corporate manoeuvres. This role exists to ensure MRANTI remains competitive, financially sustainable, and aligned with national technology and innovation blueprints through aggressive strategic positioning

Key Responsibilities:

• Corporate Structuring / Restructuring, M&A, Alliances, Business Model Innovation: Drive end-to-end corporate exercises, including feasibility studies, due diligence, and integration for potential mergers, acquisitions, or subsidiary formations.
• Corporate Strategy & Planning: Lead the development and execution of corporate strategy, ensuring alignment of divisional plans with organisational priorities.
• High-Level Stakeholder Diplomacy: Act as the primary liaison for C-suite officials at MOSTI, MOF, and international agencies. Negotiate complex MoUs, G2G and high-value partnership frameworks.
• Financial Strategy & Investment Oversight: Oversee the economic modelling for major corporate projects. Ensure that corporate development initiatives provide a clear Return on Investment (ROI) or Social Return on Investment (SROI).
• Change Management Leadership: Architect and lead large-scale organizational change initiatives resulting from corporate shifts, ensuring cultural and operational alignment across the company.
• Board Advisory: Prepare and present Board Papers and strategic briefs that influence the direction of the corporation.
• Talent Mentorship: Build a high-performing Corporate Development team, mentoring the next generation of strategic leaders.
• Programme & Project Governance: Oversee cross-divisional initiatives, ensuring effective execution, governance, and performance monitoring.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline (MBA or Master’s in Strategy, Finance, or Public Policy is an added advantage).
• Minimum of 10–12 years of experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, strategic planning, consulting, or investment analysis, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing strategic initiatives.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and organizational transformations, with a highly advantageous background working with government stakeholders, ministries, or government-linked organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to translate high-level organizational goals and national innovation mandates into concrete strategic initiatives and actionable corporate plans.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills, with a proven track record of successfully engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, C-suite executives, and government agencies.
• Strong analytical capabilities, backed by solid experience in complex financial analysis, economic modeling, and strategic evaluation.
• Able to respond swiftly and effectively to rapid shifts in the technology landscape to ensure corporate structures do not become obsolete.
• Driven to steer the corporation toward financial self-sufficiency and proactively reduce reliance on government grants.
• Astute at navigating the complex intersection of commercial viability and strict government mandates.
