This role is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and logistics operations, including inbound/outbound activities, inventory management, storage optimisation, and team supervision. The role ensures operational efficiency, stock accuracy, timely deliveries, and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse & Logistics Operations
- Coordinate daily inbound receiving and outbound delivery activities to ensure all goods are processed and delivered within the required timelines.
- Monitor warehouse and logistics activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Coordinate with relevant internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners when required.
2. Inventory Management
- Oversee regular cycle counts and stocktaking to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Reconcile physical stock against system records and investigate any discrepancies.
- Identify, report, and follow up on inventory variances.
- Coordinate the return of damaged, excess, or incorrect stock to suppliers where required.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of inventory within the warehouse.
3. Warehouse Space & Storage Optimisation
- Monitor warehouse storage capacity and utilisation.
- Optimise warehouse layout and storage arrangements to maximise available space.
- Ensure products are stored systematically and are easily accessible for picking and replenishment.
4. Team Supervision
- Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to Warehouse Assistants based on operational requirements.
- Monitor team performance, productivity, attendance, and work quality.
- Assist in planning and managing shift schedules to ensure adequate manpower coverage.
- Provide guidance and support to warehouse team members to ensure work is completed efficiently and safely.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate warehouse-related documentation and records.
- Assist in generating daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and statistics as required.
- Maintain proper documentation for receiving, delivery, stock movements, stock counts, and inventory discrepancies.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
- Ensure warehouse operations comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant safety requirements.
- Enforce proper handling and storage practices among warehouse personnel.
- Identify potential operational or safety issues and take appropriate corrective action.
- Any other duties as and when assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or above in Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, Business, or related fields preferred.
- Minimum 2 – 3 years of relevant work experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory, or material management is an advantage.
- Good organisational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to supervise and manage warehouse assistants effectively.
- Proficient in basic computer applications; experience with inventory systems is an advantage.
